Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Goswami, Regional Director
Dr Rakesh Goswami has been a working journalist for 22 years before taking the plunge into academics. He has a Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He won the University Gold Medal for scoring the highest marks in the course. He also has the doctorate degree. Dr Goswami joined the Indian Institute of Mass Communication in November 2020 as a Professor of Print Media, and was made the Regional Director of the Jammu Campus in February 2021. He has a long industry experience across the print and the broadcast journalism and passionate about teaching reporting, especially development journalism. He’s been part of Unicef programmes on empowering grassroots journalists across Rajasthan to give them critical skills to report on developmental issues.
Prof. (Dr.) Anil Saumitra
Dr. Anil Saumitra is a Professor at Northern Regional Campus, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu, and in charge of the Hindi Journalism course. Previously, he has been the Regional Director of Western Regional Campus, IIMC, Amrawati, Maharashtra. He is a senior journalist and academician with 25 years of experience. He has worked as an In-charge of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. He is the member of the Editorial Committee of ‘Sanchar Madhyam’, Peer-review Journal published by Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi. He is also the member of the Board of Studies in the Department of Mass Communication and Media Technology, SGT University, Gurugram, Haryana. He has a Master degree in Mass Communication from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology (GJUST), Hisar, Haryana and Master degree in Sociology from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. He also has a doctorate degree from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. He has written and edited more than one dozen books including, ‘Sanchar ka Samajshastra’, Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, Bhopal and ‘Madhya Pradesh ki Hindi Patrkarita ka Ithias’, published by Chhatisgarh Hindi Granth Academy, Raipur.
Dr. Dilip Kumar, Associate Professor
Dr. Dilip Kumar is a journalist-turned-media academician with more than 18 years of experience. He was founder head of department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Management Education & Research Institute in New Delhi. He has done Post-Doctoral Studies sponsored by the ICSSR. He is Doctorate in Journalism & Mass Communication & Political Science, with a rich experience in the field of Media Laws and Ethics, Media Research and Issues of International Relations. He has participated in 150 National & International conferences as a key note speaker/resource person / moderator as well as organized more than 200 seminars/ conferences/ webinars as a convener.
Dr. Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal, Assistant Professor
Dr. Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal has more than 17 years of work experience spanning across media industries and academics. He is UGC-NET and SET-Maharashtra qualified and holds the doctorate degree from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Prior to joining the IIMC, he has been Assistant Professor in Mass Communication, School of Media, Film & Entertainment (SMFE), Sharda University, Greater Noida, IIMT College of Management, Greater Noida. He has also taught at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism & Communication, Noida campus, AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, Delhi University. He has worked with Dainik Bhaskar (Indore/Raipur), Dainik Hindustan (Delhi/ Noida/ Faridabad), Rashtriya Sahara (Delhi/Noida) in different editorial capacities.
